Job Description
JOSA, a Jordanian social enterprise dedicated to open-source technology for social good, seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Finance Officer.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the financial health and successful growth of JOSA. The tasks and duties are divided as follows:
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner for both projects and organization-wide; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep leadership informed about JOSA’s financial status.
- Develop and monitor budgets for the organization and programs/projects.
- Support accounting, general ledger, and operations functions, ensuring that systems are in place to guarantee compliance, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Provide strategic vision, planning, and oversight of JOSA’s financial outlook.
- Assist in identifying and/or obtaining funding opportunities and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Develop plans to address areas of opportunity within JOSA’s financial health and financial processes.
- Liaise with clients and external stakeholders (such as auditors, contractors, etc.) for financial purposes.
- Raise awareness about financial concepts in tech within the organization and community.
- Represent the organization as a member of the leadership team.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passionate about JOSA’s mission and values.
- Preferably, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science (or similar).
- Previous experience in the finance sector, ICT sector, and/or in civil society organizations.
- Previous experience in financial management.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Able to think creatively.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience in financial and management accounting, and knowledge of different financial reporting standards.
- Accounting professional qualifications are preferred/additive but not required.
REPORTING
The Finance Officer reports to the Executive Director.
